Documentum upgrades

A global oil exploration company with a significant deployment of Documentum software wanted to upgrade its UK user community from Documentum version 5.2 to version 5.3 with no disruption to service.

Aptus supplied an upgrade team to take full responsibility for the project. Having assessed the task the Aptus team developed an upgrade plan, and then ran a test upgrade against a production clone to “shake out” any issues. They then upgraded all desktop client custom components and deployed to their COE. Finally, overnight, they completed the Content Server upgrade, migrated Full Text Index to FAST technology and switched to the new version

The upgrade was completed within a very rapid timeframe with no disruption to users. The new version provided users with valuable new functionality and the ability to work in either desktop or web client mode.
